US attacks Iraqi Kataib Hezbollah facilities in support of 'Israel'

The United States attacked three facilities allegedly belonging to the Kataib Hezbollah in Iraq and linked Resistance groups early Wednesday, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin confirmed in a press release.

The strikes came in response to an operation carried out by the Resistance on Monday targeting a US military base in Iraqi Kurdistan's Erbil, which resulted in the wounding of three Americans, including one seriously, Austin claimed.

"Today, at @POTUS’ direction, U.S. military forces conducted necessary & proportionate strikes on 3 facilities used by Kataib Hezbollah & affiliated groups in Iraq," his X post read.

"These precision strikes are a response to a series of attacks against U.S. personnel in Iraq & Syria by Iranian-sponsored militias, including an attack by Iran-affiliated Kataib Hezbollah and affiliated groups on Erbil Air Base earlier today."

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced on Monday striking the Harir US airbasenear Erbil airport using drones, bringing the total operations against American occupation bases and sites in both Syria and Iraq to over 100 since October 17.

Similarly, on Sunday, the US base at Kharab al-Jir Airport and the al-Malikiyah base in the northern countryside of al-Hasakah, northeastern Syria, were targeted with several rocket shells. However, no information was provided about the extent of the losses.

For the past weeks, operations carried out by regional Resistance groups and Yemenagainst US and Israeli targets have escalated in response to the ongoing genocide in Gaza and in support of its people.

Multiple fronts have been engaged in increasing pressure on the Israeli occupation entity and its ally, the US, with a declared aim to stop the brutal war on the besieged Strip, which left so far over 20,600 martyrs, most of whom are children and women.
